Your asphalt cracks will be at their widest when the asphalt is still somewhat cool and that gives you the best opportunity to seal the asphalt cracks up well. Then, as the temps rise and your asphalt expands, the cracks close tighter together and seal even better as they squeeze down on that fresh crack seal material.
